Erika Dyer WeLead Class of 2017-2018
Erika Dyer
Account Supervisor
Curley Company
What was the most valuable thing you learned from WeLead?
WeLead is a unique experience because it brings together a bipartisan group of ladies between the ages of 21 and 27 who, for the most part, are just beginning their career. 聽It was refreshing to learn that despite political differences, many of us shared the same experiences and had a lot in common.
What was your favorite part of the program?
Dyer most values the lasting friendships she made from WeLead, and she regularly keeps in touch with other women from her cohort. 聽She credits these friendships with providing 鈥渁 great sounding board when I need people to listen or give advice.
What advice would you give to the current WeLead class?
You can learn just as much from each other as the presenters. 聽Go in with an open mind and attempt to make connections. 聽Sometimes it might be difficult to see what you have in common with the person sitting next to you, but I can guarantee there is something you can bond over. 聽Pro-tip: afraid to go to a networking event by yourself? 聽Grab one of your classmates to go with you!
Dyer is a skilled project manager and strategist who creates compelling written, visual, and digital content for clients. She has a wide range of experience in federal, state and local legislative affairs, community organizing, strategic communications and event management.聽
Before joining Curley, Dyer served as Communications Director for Congressman Robert J. Wittman (VA-01) and as an account executive for Ketchum, where she managed account activities for an array of corporate and public affairs clients. She was also Communications Director and Legislative Aide to Springfield District Supervisor Patrick H. Herrity in Fairfax County, VA. Previously, she worked on numerous Republican campaigns throughout Virginia, notably Barbara Comstock for Congress and Jennifer Chronis for Dranesville Supervisor.
Dyer serves as Chairwoman of the Fairfax Area Young Republicans and Conservative Professionals Network of Northern Virginia and represents the Young Republican Federation of Virginia on the Republican Party of Virginia鈥檚 State Central Committee.聽
