June 18, 2021
Dear Students,
This is a reminder that all students who will be present on campus in Fall 2021 must submit proof of vaccination against COVID-19 by August 1.
Submit your proof of vaccination by following these instructions. Upload your documentation as soon as you receive your final dose. Please remember that it takes two weeks after the final dose to be fully immunized. Receiving your final dose and uploading documentation by August 1 ensures that you will be in compliance by August 15 and approved for campus presence.
Students who plan to live on campus: You must provide proof of vaccination before Move-In. Students who are not vaccinated and have not received a medical or religious exemption will not be able to live in the residence halls.
All students: As you plan, please keep these deadlines in mind.
July1 | If you are receiving the Moderna vaccine, get your first shot by this date to ensure you can complete the two-shot series (28 days apart) and be fully immunized by August 15. |
July 7 | If you are receiving the Pfizer vaccine, get your first shot by this date to ensure you can complete the two-shot series (21 days apart) and be fully immunized by August 15 |
July 15 | Deadline to request a medical or religious exemption. As with other university-required immunizations, exemptions can be granted only to those who demonstrate they cannot be vaccinated due to a documented medical or religious need. |
July 27 | If you are receiving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, get your shot by this date to ensure you are fully immunized by August 15. |
August 1 | Deadline to submit proof of vaccination. |
If you receive your vaccination outside the U.S., please read this information for important details about approved vaccinations.
If you cannot obtain a full vaccination series before arriving on campus, you may be vaccinated at no cost when you arrive. However, you must quarantine, as well as test, wear face coverings, and follow all health and safety protocols for two weeks after your final vaccine, until you are fully immunized.
Faculty and staff are also required to be vaccinated or receive a medical or religious exemption.
For additional information, make sure to monitor your emails and consult our extensive set of vaccine FAQs. AU students who must submit proof of vaccination include undergraduate, graduate, and law students; full-time and part-time students; residential and non-residential students; and students participating in study abroad.
Stay safe, be healthy, and have a wonderful summer. We look forward to seeing you this Fall!
Sincerely,
