All live class time for all courses will be held remotely through Zoom, an on-line remote platform. Course participants are required to have a device with a working microphone, camera, and internet connection to be able to fully engage and participate in all aspects of the virtual classroom lectures, discussions and exercises. Attendance will be taken and attendance in all class hours is required to receive academic credit. Please reach out to Health Law and Policy Summer Institute Director Asha Scielzo with any questions.
The registration听process differs for academic credit students and non-academic credit participants.
Academic Credit Students
AUWCL JD and LL.M. Students: No special application is required. Please enroll through the Registrar's regular course registration process, which opens in听April 2025.
Visiting JD and LL.M. Students: Visiting students who wish to enroll in the Summer Institute and receive academic credit must use the Summer Visiting Student Application to begin the process. Students who wish to receive academic credit must have a letter of good standing and permission to enroll at the Washington College of Law from their home institution.
Non-Academic Credit Participants
The Summer Institute welcomes practitioners, as well as health care or compliance professionals and scholars, or any others with a professional background or interest in health law. Program Changes & Withdrawals
The law school has established a minimum enrollment of students per course. Participants who have registered or paid a deposit will be informed promptly of any changes in the Summer Institute's offerings and, in the unlikely event of a course cancellation, will receive a full refund for the course (excluding the 4% administrative fee, which is non-refundable).
Requests for course withdrawal and/or refunds should be directed as follows:
For academic credit students: Students who have registered to receive academic credit must contact the Office of the Registrar for information about withdrawal forms and deadlines.
For non-academic credit participants:听Participants enrolled in the course will be eligible for a refund if the course is dropped and a refund is requested by Noon ET on Friday, May 24th. If a refund is requested, the net refunded amount will be the tuition minus 4%. Withdrawal from the course after this deadline will not qualify for a refund; however, electronic course materials will be provided.
